Orientation

This is greatly forgotten when discussing HR. In most companies, the Department of Human Resources presents an overview of company policies and expectations through an orientation process. The broadness and scope of the orientation varies, but at Lanier Islands it lasts for 3 hours and provides a comprehensive view into all company policies, how to treat guests, expectations, uniform and appearance standars, and everything in between. Orientation is one of the most important thing the Department of Human Resources handles, because it inevitably sets employees up for working for the company.

Equally important is the newly hired employee's attentiveness during the presentation. Orientation is so essential to being the best employee you can be. Therefore, if someone is not paying attention during the presentation, they are likely to get in trouble for violating a company policy within the first few days on the job.
